Samsung Galaxy S9 360-Degree Render Video and Images

2018 is almost upon us and we are beginning to see renders of the Samsung Galaxy S9, successor to Samsung Galaxy S8.

91Mobiles and @OnLeaks reveals some interesting design changes that will be arriving on the phone.  The new renders of the S9 based on factory CAD images have been reportedly sourced from Samsung. The Galaxy S8 that was released earlier this year features 148.9 x 68.1 x 8mm and it houses a 5.8-inch S-AMOLED display.

However, the fresh renders show that the Galaxy S9 would be measuring 147.6 x 68.7 x 8.4mm. This shows that the Galaxy S9 is slightly smaller and thicker than its predecessor.

Rumors have it that Galaxy S9 would be featuring dual rear cameras. However, its renders reveal that the dual camera feature will be exclusively available on the Galaxy S9+. The Power button is on the right side of the S9 whereas the Bixby button and volume rocker are on the left. The S9 will be also borrowing other features like 3.5mm audio jack, iris scanner, USB-C port, and IP68 rated chassis from the S8.

Watch the video below;

As for the specs, the Samsung Galaxy S9 is rumored to be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 845 flagship processor, which was unveiled recently. There will also be a Samsung Exynos 9810 SoC-powered variant of the phone.

The device is expected to come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, with a possible 6GB RAM variant too. Samsung has already started mass producing 512GB flash storage modules for smartphones, so chances are the top-end Galaxy S9 could come with 512GB of storage. The phone is likely to launch with Android Oreo out of the box.

We expect the announcement during MWC in February 2018.

Kwesé Tv is a subsidiary of the Econet Media Group, which is owned byStrive Masiyiwa. Also, MTN Nigeria is the largest and most widely spread telecommunication provider in Nigeria. As a result, this partnership is anchored increasing market presence and share of Kwesé TV in Nigeria.

Aside the use of MTN stores as major sale points for Kwesé TV’s decoder, MTN subscribers would also be enrolled on the Mobile Video platform of the Kwesé Network. They would be offered an exclusive video data bundle service in the New Year.

Facebook to Start Demoting Posts With Engagement Bait

Facebook has announced a new policy that should cut down on a lot of spammy garbage from your timeline. Going forward, all posts that ask users to engage with them in any way will be demoted and buried out of view.

Spammy posts that goad users into interacting with likes, shares, comments, and other actions. For example, “LIKE this if you’re an Aries!” This tactic, known as “engagement bait,” seeks to take advantage of FB News Feed algorithm by boosting engagement in order to get greater reach.

So, starting from this week, Facebook will begin demoting individual posts from people and Pages that use engagement bait. Facebook is currently giving a warning period to publisher’s time to adapt and stop their engagement baiting techniques before rolling out the changes.

Pages who continue to do so will see significantly reduced reach for their posts and eventually the entire page itself.

MultiChoice Nigeria launches Pay-Per-View concept

Multichoice Nigeria will be launching a pay-per-view (PPV) option in the country. Pay-Per-View (PPV), will allow viewers pay an additional fee to watch a particular programme either on a cable or a satellite TV,

The company says this would allow subscribers watch some important programmes not available on their bouquet. Though, at an extra cost to the willing consumers.

According to the HPR“Pay TV operation is not like the telecom version where you pay for the amount of airtime you want to use. Pay-as-you-go, as believed by some customers, is not obtainable in the pay TV business,”

“Paying for PPV in Europe and the UK is equivalent to paying for two months subscription in Nigeria. We know Africans love boxing that is why we are bringing the best thing that is happening in the world to Africa.”

One subscriber lamented bitterly saying…“Having a pay-per-view could be a good alternative, as to me the current subscription regime is a cheat on me. Initially, I used to do the full bouquet like N13000 ($42.5) and then I just thought I was wasting money and reduced it to around N3000 ($9.8). What I really watch on the DStv is the E!,” said Ms. Olamide, a DStv subscriber.

This might be a good development but also remember that there is no sufficient electricity to watch what you are subscribing for.

Free Video Streaming With 9mobile

Streaming YouTube videos is absolutely free with 9mobile … but with conditions attached! I was just minding my own business when I saw this on their twitter handle.

When you get any of 9mobile monthly data plans, Youtube video streaming is absolutely free for you from the hour of 1am - 5am. I don’t know why it has to be from that odd hour of the night to stream free on YouTube. Why not around 10pm – 5am?

This must definitely be for Vigilante night surfers or those that find it difficult to sleep at night. This is a good development and I must commend 9mobile for it. Those that always watch movies on YouTube at night will find this handy.
